Bored of games, board of life

A slightly Brexit-themed game of Scrabble over Christmas

We each took a letter out of the bag to decide who goes first (nearest to A starts). We both got a T. We tried again… and both got an O. TOTO, the dog from the Wizard of Oz (not an allowed Scrabble word). I can’t remember who got what next, but it wasn’t the same letter.

My two favourite board games are chess and Scrabble; nothing else comes close to them, IMO. Chess I’ve been playing pretty constantly since I was 14; Scrabble we’ve just rediscovered over Christmas. Both games simultaneously frustrate and fascinate me in equal measure. Essentially, I find I compare my life with how I play Scrabble and chess, which is not as good as I think it should be.
