I’m Too Late

Naomi Bedford and her Rolling Ramshackle Revue – called an ‘online supergroup’ by YorkMix – have covered another Bob Dylan song. Too Late is an almost throwaway Dylan tune from 1983 which morphed into Foot of Pride and remained unreleased until last year’s The Bootleg Series Vol.16: Springtime in New York 1980-1985. After the success of Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts (currently with over 21,000 views and 336 likes), Naomi asked me to create another video for Too Late, but I was way too busy (I’d done the previous one during lockdown) – I was literally too late – so her talented son, Luca, ended up doing it. I would never have thought of using cartoons for a Dylan song but it works, so why not? Again, all proceeds go to the fundraising organisation We Shall Overcome.

Here’s Dylan’s official band version video:

There’s a new stranger in town. He’s created a fan video for the actual Dylan song Lily, Rosemary and the Jack of Hearts using a very similar technique to my own video:

What can I say? It’s pretty good, and copying is the highest form of flattery. Here’s a reminder of my video:
