Notes on Flemish flakes
I love a Flemish flake – quite simply, a coiled rope on a boat. It should be a temporary solution as the coil can get wet and dirty. Named after great Belgium fishermen from the medieval era, they are a neat, safe and attractive way to store rope ends.
